Ryan Gentry | Assessor

I joined the railway when I was 18 years old as a labourer on London underground and Network rail as part of the barking power upgrade. Gaining experience, I furthered my knowledge on the railway by being a part of other big projects like Neasden sidings upgrade and platform extensions across network rail. By gaining this experience I began to learn new competences to help further my railway career. Gaining my COSS/PC competences allowed me to take on bigger challenges. Dealing with line blockages in complex areas and deliver jobs for clients. After being on the railway for ten years I am now a qualified assessor for BR Rail. Covering a range of competences; COSS, PC, Safe System of work planner, Strapping/Switching, Possession support and ES. .

I am also a Safe system of work planner, planning and creating safe work packs for jobs across the United Kingdom. In the future I am looking to become a trainer for BR Rail to help grow others knowledge on different competences and to share my experience to help others.
